Day 2 – Shopping and Exploring

After breakfast, Bill and Rhonda visited Fennell Family Chiropractic where Rhonda enjoyed a wellness consultation.

Roger and Jenny spent the morning at Brow and Body Bar, and Leerae Head and Hair Spa, enjoying a relaxing pampering session.

Brian and Lindy visited Crameri’s Mitre 10 and Outdoor Concrete Solutions, collecting ideas for landscaping projects.

Carl and Gemini dropped into Ezy Paint and Maryborough Floor Coverings, comparing colours and design trends.

Terry and Shirley visited The Professionals Real Estate office to learn about the local property market.

Fred and Fanny enjoyed lunch at My Pizza & Pasta before stopping at Class Kitchen Bakery for fresh pastries.

The group met for dinner at the Park Hotel where they enjoyed hearty country meals and local hospitality.

Day 3 – Giants Football and Netball Day

The friends attended their first Maryborough Giants Football and Netball Club match day.

Before the game, they visited Centre State Printing, where sponsor materials and Giants flyers were proudly displayed.

Bill and Rhonda enjoyed lunch at the Canteen with food supplied by Cadell Food Services and Class Kitchen Bakery, while supporting the Giants.

Roger and Jenny spent time chatting with local sponsors including LPM Finance and Lauren Dent Conveyancing.

Brian and Lindy met representatives from Herring & McMillan Solicitors and learned more about the local business community.

Carl and Gemini grabbed some KFC on the way to the footy, and purchased Giants merchandise and spent most of the afternoon watching football.

Terry and Shirley enjoyed the netball action while Fred and Fanny volunteered briefly around the canteen.

That night everyone celebrated the Giants’ success with dinner at the Maryborough Highland Society.

Day 4 – Regional Adventures

Several couples ventured beyond Maryborough.

Bill and Rhonda travelled to Avoca and visited Nick Drury Mechanical. Bill asked Nick to check his motor was working well.

Roger and Jenny met with Joseph from Rayner Constructions and admired several building projects around Avoca.

Brian and Lindy visited G.J. Gardner Homes in Bendigo and gathered ideas for future home designs.

Carl and Gemini headed to Ballarat and spent the afternoon enjoying a movie at Showbiz Cinemas in Delacombe. They dropped into R & J Batteries and purchased a new battery as their old battery had been struggling to turn the motor over.

Terry and Shirley enjoyed several games at Oz Tenpin Bowl Ballarat.

Fred and Fanny travelled to Redbank and spent a delightful afternoon at Sally’s Paddock Winery, sampling local wines and enjoying the beautiful vineyard views.

Dinner that evening was once again enjoyed at the Maryborough Golf Club.

Day 5 – Business Visits and Local Discoveries

Bill and Rhonda visited Barker Trailers where Bill was fascinated by the engineering and manufacturing of modern semi-trailers.

Roger and Jenny called into Premix King and learned about beverage distribution throughout the region, and grabbed a couple of Frothies as well.

Brian and Lindy visited Pyrenees Trees and discussed tree lopping options with Doddsy.

Carl and Gemini toured Outdoor Concrete Solutions and Evolution Kitchens, and also dropped their car into Tidyman Automotive for a service.

Terry and Shirley visited Darryl Wagstaff Funerals and were impressed by the professionalism and community support offered.

Fred and Fanny explored Sonac Darling and learned about the important role the company plays within the local sector.

The evening meal was enjoyed at the Highland Society, followed by entertainment and social activities.

Day 6 – Golf Day

One of the highlights of the trip was the Maryborough Giants Golf Day held at the Maryborough Golf Club.

Bill and Rhonda formed a team with Roger and Jenny.

Brian and Lindy teamed up with Carl and Gemini.

Terry and Shirley played alongside Fred and Fanny.

The day was filled with laughter, friendly competition and excellent golf.

The couples met many local residents and business owners who support the Giants Football and Netball Club.

Following presentations, everyone enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the clubhouse overlooking the course.

Day 7 – Final Day in Maryborough

On their final day, the couples completed some last-minute shopping.

Bill and Rhonda revisited the Community Bank and purchased gifts from J.M. Leech Jewellers.

Roger and Jenny returned to Rinaldi’s Fashions and Class Kitchen Bakery.

Brian and Lindy stopped by Maryborough Floor Coverings and Crameri’s Mitre 10.

Carl and Gemini enjoyed one final coffee and pumpkin soup at Rustorations Café.

Terry and Shirley visited No Limits 24/7 Health Club, and Elevate Training to learn more about local fitness opportunities.

Fred and Fanny picked up fresh produce from The Little Produce Box and lunch from Subway.

Before departing, the entire group gathered for a farewell lunch at the Park Hotel where they reflected on a fantastic week filled with friendship, golf, football, shopping, dining and the wonderful hospitality of Maryborough Giants Sponsors and the surrounding region.

As they drove back to Melbourne, all six couples agreed that Maryborough had exceeded their expectations and they were already planning a return visit.
